Yesterday afternoon there was a beautiful male Northern Pintail at the yacht club. He was hanging out with 50 or so Mallards and 4 American Black Ducks, near the boat launch. This was the best view of a male that I ever had. So close and really tame! If someone would walk past or drive by, he swam out a little bit, but always came right back to the shore. I just wish I would’ve had some sunlight for the photos. I sat in my truck and watched the ducks for a little over and hour. Spring migration is definitely underway, with new birds arriving daily. Pictures are from the afternoon. Enjoy!
Stunning. One can even see the serrations on the pintail’s bill. And such beautiful plumage.
Thank you very much!
What a beautiful bird! And you captured it so well! Stunning! BTW, I hope you had successful trip to Florida!
Thank you Karen! He really was stunning! Florida is always so nice and relaxing, especially when it’s cold and miserable here!
Beautiful pictures!! Your pictures really capture the true beauty of the bird in their element!
Thank you beautiful wife!
Once again you’ve captured every detail of these beautiful birds. Fantastic photos, Jeremy.
Thank you very much Tom!

Thank you Rita! They are also at the top of my list, along with Ring-necked Duck.
